APPLYING FOR THE SS MARY ROSE
First off, allow me to thank you for your interest in becoming a member of this crew. Please scroll down to the end of this description to access the application form, or, in the event that the form on this website is down, you may also follow this link to access the Obsidian Fleet player application form.
Please note that the game itself is run in a somewhat different fashion than most the usual run of the mill Star Trek sims. For instance, here, rank and position don't really have any real set path, so while characters may have a star fleet or military background, we do not have career tracks here. Despite the ship's size, most of her internal space has been converted for cargo transport, so the internal capacity for crew has been heavily limited. This, in short, means that aside from not really having a singular job despite your title, it also means that you will have very little in terms of a department, if you're lucky enough to even really have one.
As such, the only real and true departments on the ship are limited to engineering, and medical. All other tasks, while there may be one whom is the head of the department, will essentially be covered for the most part by everyone, including the captain. This includes, but is not limited to flight control, security, ship maintenance, ect.
While I may be a little more flexible than a few other CO's on characters with unique species, that doesn't mean that I'm going to accept bios with little information in terms of species data. That is, apart from any of the so listed Federation Cannon Species, (with these exceptions, which of course, I won't be accepting period).
Because of this, while characters capable of working well with others is preferable, it is not a requirement in day to day activities, but they should be able to pull it together in a pinch and work with whoever to get out alive. Remember, even a lone wolf has to ask for help every once in a while. However, with that said, I am making it a requirement that any such character submissions be done by a very good writer with enough experience to make it work and mesh with other characters. This includes being willing to compromise, taking a high amount of personal responsibility for your actions, both in character and out, and most importantly of all, respecting the other characters! We've all wanted to play one at some point or another, but balance is the key here; if you can't balance them then don't do them!

Game Information
As the Mary Rose isn't a vessel active within the Federation Starfleet, or any military unit for that matter, we don't follow many of the usual policies that guide Starfleet officers and such. We do however have a code of conduct which is fairly basic, which is determined by the captain. As such, Mary Rose, despite her name won't always follow the rule of law. In fact, we the crew of the ship, will in many cases be actively operating outside of Federation and/or local laws. As for the game format proper; there will be a under-lying sub-plot tied into the concept of the ship itself. This will become more and more apparent as time goes on.
The year the sim takes place will match that of Obsidian Fleet at all times, unless otherwise stated for a specific mission.
The game itself is forum-based, although there is a website which is to be accessed for quick-reference purposes. Please note that following all missions, a basic synopsis of the events which transpired will be posted; again, for quick referencing purposes.

Age Policy
Since the basic concept of the SS Mary Rose is to be a darker, more graphic theme than the average Star Trek Sim, which includes crude language, graphic violence, drug references, and other adult themes, the sim is specifically limited to players eighteen (+18) and older.
Although I may or may not accept a character under that age, anyone whom submits a character and is under the age of eighteen will be automatically rejected with notice and will be returned and/or referred back to the Obsidian Fleet Office of Personnel Management.

List of Available Positions
Please note that while the list of positions may be extensive, it isn't meant to be exhaustive. If there is a position that you would like to have that isn't on this list, then please fill that in on the form.
